blurry city lights
jan 29, 2009
157 to I-270 at night--
All I need to keep me home are those blurry city lights.
I got the high school put behind me
and I’m headed to the Arch,
and I don’t know who is with me-
if a boy is driving the car.
A hotel to our left, a forest to our right-
All I need to keep me home are those blurry city lights.
I know some boys who have seen them,
I know one who needs to still,
and I know a girl who don’t know me-
and probably never will.
But no matter who is at the wheel,
we’ll just drive on out of sight
because all I need to keep me home are those blurry city lights.
